There was a Double attack in New Zealand in two Mosque. There were 49 dead and 48 injured. The group that made the attack made a transmission on Facebook . The main suspect is an Australian of 30 years old. The aggressor used a machine gun that had been used in another massacre previously by him. The police arrested 4 suspects. But the police decided to release one of those four.
The society was really scared, and the police advised them to stay away and not to leave their homes.
Nour Tavis is a victim of that massacre. Tavis said that he was in the front row of the Mosque with his friends when the shooting started. At first, they did not know what the noise was. Then they heard screams and also, they saw everyone panicking and running.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described this as one of the worst days in New Zealand’s history. The shooting was an act of terrorism, and she quickly introduced tough new firearm laws which ban semi-automatic weapon. For Jacinda, this was one of the darkest days for the country.
Muslims worldwide have praised New Zealand’s response to the massacre, with many singling out Ardern’s gesture of wearing a head scarf to meet victims’ families and urging the country to unite with the call: “We are one”.
