The United Nations World Water Development Report 2019
The use of water increased 1% since 1980. It is estimated that by 2050 it will increase by 30%, in the industrial and domestic sectors.
There are more than four billion people who have water shortages. It is a human right to have the capacity to have water.
Nearly half of the people who drink water from unprotected sources live in sub-Saharan Africa. Six out of ten people do not have access to safe sanitation services. However, these global figures hide important inequalities between and within regions, countries, communities and even neighborhoods.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, water is your human right. Access to water underpins public health and is therefore critical to sustainable development and a stable and prosperous world. We cannot move forward as a global society while so many people are living without safe water.
Gather people together to share ideas and make them grow. Hold or attend an event to make personal connections that could help people living without safe water.
WATER IS A HUMAN RIGHT, SO ALL THE PEOPLE MUST HAVE IT
