May 31st, World no tobacco day
Every year, tobacco kills 6.000.000 people of who more than 600.000 are non-smokers that die by breathing passively. A passive smoker is someone who breathes smoke issued by someone that is smoking. A lot of children are exposed to smoke before they are born. The consequences of this are: low weight, respiratory diseases and asthma. For this reason, May 31st is the day when we celebrate the WORLD DAY WITHOUT TOBACCO to convince us that smoking is a chronic disease that affects 1.200.000.000 people in the world.
Many ways to stop
Eight out of ten people stop smoking, but they start to smoke again the next week. Stop smoking affects the organism: produces alterations in memory and lack of attention. There are many ways to leave it: acupuncture, laser, hypnosis and herbal syrups but the most effective (70% success) are pharmacological and psycological treatments.
The pharmacological treatment is with gums, patches of nicotine and candies, blocking the pleasurable effects of nicotine. The psychological treatment consist in motivating yourself to achieve a gradual reduction of cigarettes.
