Tomas Barbero is an economist. He was born in Buenos Aires, but he went to Malawi 2 years ago. Most of the people in Malawi are poor and don't have access to services. He told us: "In Malawi there are a lot of rains during six months of the year, but then during six months it never rains". The heavy rains sometimes "destroys" the houses of the people. "We can help them by sending money for food". "Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world", Barbero said.
"I work in an economic develovement, where we analyse what the people have and look for a solution. In Malawi there is no drinking water, there is no wifi and if you want to buy something you have to go to the capital city, because most of the people live in rural areas. In the six months that they don't have food , they don't have a place to store it, so they have to sell the food and then they have to pay for it again".

Few children go to the primary school and some children that finish primary school do not go to the secondary school. "The education system is very poor. The public schools are very bad", Barbero said. "In my job I think that we can help them, for example with solar panels, or other renewables sources. The access to hospitals also is very bad and limited. There is no transport, maybe you cannot go because you live far away. The people do not have medicines, so some people die. A lot of people live without services, food and money", he added.
